Brian YbarraPresidentSaludos, my name is Brian Ybarra and I am currently on my victory lap year at SDSU. My major is biochemistry and I’ll be applying to medical school next year. I have been with CCM ever since we started this organization back in the Spring of 2014. It has been a great pleasure these past couple of semesters working to build this organization and striving to positively impact our SDSU and San Diego community. CCM has provided me with many opportunities for growth and strengthened my decision to pursue medicine as a career. I believe that we all have the ability to pursue our desired health career and CCM has proven to be a huge support group for me and I know that it can be for you as well. I hope that you can get involved with CCM and leave more motivated and ready to address health disparities and other issues in healthcare as I have these past couple years.

Danielle RomeroVice PresidentHello! My name is Danielle Romero originally from Los Angles, California. I am a fourth year majoring in general biology. I will be applying to Post baccalaureate this year and hope to get accepted by next fall. My career goal in life is to become a Pediatrician and run my own clinic. I joined CCM because I was encouraged to join by our former President Abraham Lopez to get involved with this club and be apart of a group that encourages you to be great. I feel like CCM is a small family and we all try to help each other out when we are struggling with school. We try to provided a support system for students that are in the pre-health majors, and try to let them know that they are not alone. Looking forward to meeting new people and making our family a bigger one!

Jonathan HerreraTreasurerHello, My name is Jonathan Herrera and I will be this semester’s treasure. I am a pre-medical student currently in my fifth year. My major is biology and was born and raised here in San Diego! I found CCM to be one the more enjoyable pre-health organizations; with interesting and highly motivated leaders running it (members were also nice). Seeing their passion and drive to not only become physicians but to also give back to a community, their community, is all endearing and engaging. This is why I decided to become a part of CMM; I also share many of their goals and aspirations. I hope to be able to deliver the same enthusiasm and beneficial experience to the new (and old) members of CCM as the ones I was able to obtain.

Adrianna SalazarSecretaryHi! My name is Adriana Salazar from a small desert town called Lancaster, CA. I am a Biology student working towards becoming a physician. I joined CCM because as a pre-professional health student, I found it important to construct a pathway that acquires a group of people who understand the challenges we face, who recognize the importance in serving the undeserved community, and who strive to learn more about the variety of professional health care options. And CCM has fulfilled these qualities to help me become the motivated individual I am. Therefore, I would like to continue to help build this community with other students because making a difference begins with a single step and a little support from friends.

Alexa PazosPublic Relation/MarketingI am currently a commuting 5th year student from Chula Vista majoring in anthropology and minoring in biology and art at San Diego State University. Each component of my undergraduate education has cast a pivotal role in preparing my skills towards a future career in medical illustration. My field of interest strives to communicate effectively through digital images and anatomical diagrams depicting diseases, new surgical procedures, and technology within the cutting edge of today's medicine intended for health professionals and patients to better understand. Additionally, I hope to apply to a masters in medical illustration this coming spring semester. Outside of student life, I enjoy sketching, running, and singing. Beyond this, I place a great importance towards sharing meaningful life experiences with others, mentoring students with a mindset of encouragement, and continuing to grow special bonds with new students such as those who are involved with CCM. My involvement in CCM has enriched my enjoyment for helping guide students towards realizing their own career goals. It has also been an incredible learning experience through the impactful stories of student journeys, struggles, and the work accomplished by other healthcare professionals.
