"MiMentor was founded and created by Alliance in Mentorship (AIM), a 501c3 non-profit, to provide pre-health, health professions students, and health professionals with a mentoring space to enhance diversity in the healthcare workforce throughout the country.
Alliance in Mentorship (AIM) was established on March 2012 with the mission to develop and support innovative mentorship opportunities that will inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders. We envision a country where all students have the professional support and resources they need to excel in the health professions to serve underserved communities. Our founders are alumni of various outreach, pre-health and medical associations such as Puente, Upper Bound, Math Engineering Science Achievement (MESA), Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine (CCM), Chicanos/Latinos for Health Education (CHE), Chicanos/Latinos for Creative Medicine (CCM), Los Curanderos, Black Pre-Health (BPH), Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), Student National Medical Association (SNMA), Sacramento Latino Medical Association (SaLMA), California Latino Medical Association (CaLMA), National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA). The Latino Physicians of California has taken an active role in our development and supported our collaboration with various community colleges, universities and health professions schools throughout the country. We are excited to share all of these amazing mentoring opportunities with all of you. Our alliance of mentors, mentees, and various institutions/organizations that support higher education has a vested interest in improving the diversity of the healthcare workforce to better serve our communities.
