Major: Psychology Minor: Cellular and molecular biology
My career goal is to practice as a physician assistant.
My first experience with CCM was at an outside event. I signed up as a translator to help medical professionals in a local free clinic at a Tijuana refugee camp. I loved the fast paced environment, but the genuine appreciation of the people is what drew me in. CCM is a small community of minority students that are here to empower and support each other through our journey to our health professions. I am looking forward to growing our community and making a change one person at a time.

My favorite experience with CCM was in collaboration with Boarder Angels. Boarder Angels was able to bring families together by "abriendo la puerta de la esperanza" from Mexico to the U.S.. It was a memorable experience witnessing this event and seeing the tears of joy brought upon these families.

My first experience with CCM was an event in City Heights where we explained to guests from the clinic La Maestra about diabetes and cardiovascular disease. I enjoyed connecting with the guests and knowing their past experiences with these conditions and diseases. Knowing their past experiences made me aware of the health disparities happening in our community. I would like to raise awareness towards these health disparities through education.

My first experience with CCM was a volunteer event for ABC Rock the Block. We helped set up the event and cooked hot dogs for families in the neighborhood. It was my first community service volunteer opportunity and I enjoyed seeing families having fun the event. I look forward to doing more volunteer events and helping out around the community.
